Talked to Jayne Che and Korkor Keith about Griffith University (I really hope I made th right choice in deciding that), and they are gonna talk to Uncle Leong about our discussion.

Ohmann, I'm just afraid of the financial burden, and I wanna study my Physiotherapy asap actually. For now, it's just Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science (Pre-Physiotherapy) for just a year, and probably I'll be back to work for a while, and then back for Masters of Physiotherapy.

No matter if Imma continue straight for Masters or taking a break, I'll really needa push my grades up above 5/7, qualify for honours and also Masters of Physiotherapy (most importantly).

I'll needa sit back and chill-lax, don't worry too much (for now), and wait for my cousin's reply /:

Option One: Griffith University's Bachelor in Exercise Science (Pre-Physiotherapy) - 1 year/instead of 3 years (AUD$22k), and then Masters in Physiotherapy - 2 years (AUD$68k), OR Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine - 1 year (AUD$23k)

I've recieved my Letter of Offer from Griffith University :D

Yes, it's that articulated exemptions (RP-Griffith), th one that offers double degree of Sports Science and Physiotherapy in three years (instead of th full five years), and it's at Gold Coast, just nearby Surfer's Paradise! - Awesomeee right? ;D I know.

But,
I'm not that financially inclined to afford just yet :( It's either I find a financial solution asap, financial miracle blessings or I defer for one year while I save as much as I possible can. Sighhh.

I really wanna go back to study :( Idw to keep dragging, I'm afraid that I might lose my motivation to study by then. Rahhhh, I must must must at least study till Masters!!

Actually I deserved it and expected it coming, I've been expectionally lazy and reluctant this semester, sighh. (N) bad me.

Anyhow, I went over to Sports School to have a 'future pathways' talk w Mr. Gobi in the afternoon, alittle chitchat w the others and also small visit. Hmm, always so enlightening. :) I needa set my mind, be determined and work hard towards my goal! JY, Elaine.

Okay, So here's my Current Plan:
Full-time working for Two years, at th same time enrich myself w certifications/courses (eg, Basic Sports Massage, First-Aid& CPR, Fitness Instructor, NCAP, Pilates Instructor, etc - not confirmed, but more or less).
After two years, *keep my fingers crossed* Apply for WDA-NYP Physio Diploma! Impress interviewers, and secure a place in there.

Hopefully this full-time work that I've decided on, will not bore myself to death and kill my social life. (:

Orchard Hotel with Elmo, freezing cold. Anywayyy..

Seriously, Griffith= University's collaboration with Republic Polytechnic's Sports Science Course, really attracted me alot. University of South Australia too :)

It's gonna be a One year bachelor in Exercise Science, followed by Two years Masters in Physiotherapy. It's like "one stone kill two birds" - Exercise sci + Physio, and it's gonna b Masters! Furthermore, its gonna b a Gold Coast Campus (Near Brisbane) SURFER'S PARADISE! Awesome or what?! ZOMGGGG! :D Really am fortunate t have this 'link' to Griffith :) But then again, it's gonna be financially-irritating :( If, I don't get any sponsorship, fundings or whatever, I'mma burst my own ~~Griffin Dreams~~. It's gonna be at least 100k....
(Even th name of th uni sounds cool, Griffith - Harry Potter's Gryffindor ;D)

If money plans fails, I'mma stay and do my Three years of Diploma at NYP + One year of Bachelor in Physiotherapy, overseas, thru WDA's Professional Conversion Programme. Plus, a year or so in Specialisation of Sports Physio, Overseas Masters ;D

It would be nice if I can go overseas w Elmo, but then again.. $$$ :( Sighhh. Anyhow, we have another three more visits to IDP, WDA and MOH. Gonna keep my (our) fingers' crossed, hope for th best :)

Cost vs. duration.

1. NYP's 3 years Diploma in Physiotherapy & 1 year Degree Overseas. Through WDA, with 2 years Full-time working experience prior. (With three-tier selections and interviews)

2. Overseas's 3-4 years Degree in Physiotherapy, COST A BOMB! ($100K-200K!)

With a Sports Science Diploma, What's next?

Somehow I regretted not studying harder for O's, and getting L1R5, 21points :( Else, I would be squeezing into a JC, and perhaps a faster and straight route into Physiotherapy.

But, what's done is done. I can't exactly change and keep dwelling on those. So yeah, another path into Physiotherapy through WDA, but it doesn't guarantee admission into nyp tho, with a three-tier interviews and selection by WDA, NYP and th funding healthcare institution, Sighh.

Hopefully th visit to WDA soon, will clear my doubts and worries, and I need to start working very soon, in order to squeeze into th April's intake of NYP, 2 years from now. :)

he made me realise how much I've changed, how much I've stopped being true t myself, how much my life seems to revolves around that certain thing so dear to me, that I grew deeper and deeper attached to, and that I have been trying so hard to protect it till I've lost myself in th process.

Even th thought of whatever possibilities and future would bring, really scares and worries me alot. I only wish for it to b good, that's all. But why does it need to b so complicated and messed up ):

Imma sleep after this.

What have I actually been doing in these twentaye years of my life? Played my childhood life away, it was really fun-filled tho, but I did badly in PSLE (I think like.. 182?) Tried to pull up my socks alittle here and there in SJC, Top th NA cohort for just th first year, then slowly.. deproved (Boohooo). I guess my life slowly change at sjc, my passion, hectic busy days w position& responsibility to fulfill, good friends, frustrations, disappointment, demoralised, heartache and etc. I just did mediocre-ly well for N's (5 Points), terribily disappointing with distractions for O's (L1R4, 14, L1R5, 21), missed a point to hit minimum JC's cut-off point, far-fetch by my desired L1R5, 11-14. No talent in badm, I suck at it. Got it of my dream ): /Sighh. I regretted.

Promised myself to refrain all matters of th heart, to focus well in whatever I do in my three years at poly, to at least experience peak performance. I did it, somewhat at rpdb year1-2. Sacrified alot, endured pain, but at least I made a name for myself and together as a team. Trained hard together with th team, many ups and downs, but at least managed to substain and retain our legacy. I will pretty much relieved, at least I did what I had to. Th team was heartwarmingly-close too (: Year 1 results wasn't good at all. By year 2, I tried hard to pull up, but it was too late and there was little I could do to improve tremendously ): /I regretted.

Now at Year three. I've drawn my white flag, hit th pause button in physical activity - I couldn't take it. I feel so weak, there were visible limitations, sucha lousy. I couldn't train together with my team, it was super demoralising and disappointing, distance drifted apart. My last two races, I might not even be able to end at a high-note ): That self-disappointment &helplessness, indescribable. It's my last semester already, I need to buck up! I need to wake up, open my eyes and face th future - and grab whatever opportunity that lies ahead. I'm happy that my current GPA (3.30/4) sets a rather high chance for me in most international universities. It's just sucha a pity and disappointment that.. I'm once again, far-off th local university (NTU)'s requirements, sighh ): I'm pretty much excited and determined in my future prospects, cause I've found something that I'm rather interested in from the university fair @ rp.

There's exemption for RP's Sports Science course, so.. it's a great thing! Instead of doing the full three years bachelor degree, I just get to do it for 1 and a half years! (: -> Griffith's Bachelor of Exercise Science (Pre-Physiotherapy) But th problem now, accomdation & $$$$$! )': Sighhh

Mine was a pretty much troublesome case over at SSDC counter, LOL. Th nice lady tried to help me re-enrol, so I wouldn't need to pay more. But most probably, I might need to retake my FTT, cause it expires in 2 years, and my first enrolment date was 3rd Sept 2008-.- HAHAH. I know, super long ago.

Sunday afternoon out with Charis (: Was suppose to go shopping, but we were kinda tired and there weren't really much stuff that we liked kinda, and it was a sundayyyy - so many people! >:( Anyhow, we walked around town area, window-shopped here and there.

and, so cool that artiste's shop outside Scape has free iPhone charging! LOL.

Charis introduced this "Once Upon a Milkshake" drink, I tried Mini Tangy Strawberry milkshake (The 'left' one& Charis tried 'Lychee'), it's superrr cute and veryyy niceeee! (Y) (and addictive too!)
I've been craving for it since th day I first drank it!

You should seriously try it too! (It's 3bucks plus tho, for mini)

Andand, we bought Yam Abacus and Muah Cheeeee from Taka! The Muah Cheee is damn nice kayy (My Cousin introduced it to me, even my gmother likes it!:D)

And this was like my entertainment of th day. We walked into Crumpler Store, just wanted to look around, and I spotted this at the front counter. It's a super miniture matchstick box!

Lastly, we had dinner at Tanglin Mall's Nando's! :D Finally managed to try the Singapore outlet's! Nicenicenice (: It was much less crowded at that branch& good setting too! :D

Kerri Strug

In 1992, she helped the United States of America (USA) win a team bronze medal at the Barcelona Olympic Games, as the youngest member of the team.

She also finished in the top 10 regularly in the World Championships from 1993 to 1996.

However, her greatest achievement came in the year 1996 at the Atlanta Games, when she hauled Team USA to their first gold medal for gymnastics, an event dominated by the Russians for decades. And she did it with only one good leg.

During Strug's first attempt at the vault, she under-rotated the landing, causing her to fall and injure her ankle - she had 2 torn ligaments.

The score for her first vault was no guarantee for gold, with the Russian team hot on Team USA's heels.

With her severely damaged ankle - which would have rendered most mere mortals immobile - Strug pressed on through the pain and completed her second and final vault, where she nailed the landing before crumpling to the floor in sheer physical agony.
Her near perfect vault sealed the victory for Team USA.

Following her superhuman performance, the "Magnificent 7" were inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame, and Strug became a national sports icon.

Her story epitomises of the Olympic value of Excellence, and we can only hope that the young athletes of the world will adopt her 'never-say-die' attitude at the inaugural Youth Olympic Games.

Hello, it's been a while since I last updated. I think I will not update that regularly anymorezxzx, cause I'm rather beeezeeee recently, so like yeah.

Anyway, yesterday afternoon was the Sports Wing Staff's Healthy Lifestyle day, and we had 'outing/bonding' at CCAB - Bukit Timah. Had lunch at MadJack first, (Y) then headed down to CCAB in Edgar Tham's Car. Did a mini orientation around the vincinity first, cause during th YOG period, Sports School is one of the sports holding venue, we'll needa move out temporary for 6 weeks, and our temporary home would be at CCAB. Check out my temporary workplace, the sports science academy in.. their unventilated squash courts area. HAHAHHAA. No comments. How does this even look feasible for th sports science academy t b here, like... th physio room and all, and there's no aircon! I think I needa wear swimming costume everyday, whenever I feel like Im melting I'll just jump into th pool outside for instant-coollll. hahaha.

The only shiok place is the tiny gym and th staff lounge. other than that its... L.O.L. But one thing good about it is, the location and also th good food around. We'll move over at mid-july, and I'll be there for my last 2-3 weeks of attachment. -.- Ohwell, I needa learn to enjoy yo.

Heehee. okok. I needa sleep very soon after meeting pig, cause I needa wake up at 630 tomorrow, and reach by 820!!! ): Goodnight everyone.

I was hunnggrrrryyyy): They were Shisha-ing away (+ smoking lorzxxz, before I came, tsk!), dislike th smokey smokey smell/feel and people there, and th setting were kinda dim, totally felt like falling asleep. They were playing some "1 Random Fact about yourself" (Ratna started it, cause she was rather bored, i think-.-) So it just kept going on and on-.- My 1st random fact wasn't even said by me lah, I was eating away they totally helped me t answer it. retardssss. :p HAHAHA.

Day Five!

Two of the SP interns' last day today... ): They are damn hilarious lah, hahaha. Anyway, they are attached t th Sports Nutritionist and they had presentation in the morning (I was late by 5mins, so paiseh t walk in lateeee:/ -Btw, first time kayyyzxz, cause of th rain and th bus' fault:p haha)

Followed th Sports Science people down t RP for th netball matches (B div vs IJTP, C Div vs. Raffles)! Yile and Me took turns t filmed th match quartely. haha. Met Tranny, Amelia, Partner, Hayden, Susan, Cass, Jf, and etc! (: yknow what, I left my lappie's charger on from lunch all th way till 5pm! my battery confirmed ultra spoilt and cmi alr ): sighhhh.

Came back, and th physiologist doctor, psychologist and Yile was playing soccer-.- LOL.

I didn't join them, cause I've... got no ball-sense. ROFL. for real..

Hello Hello, Good Morning!

It's th start of school for rp students! Met derek on th bus, feels like I'm going school too. But nahhh, I'm going Sports School for my IIP instead! (: heehee. Th bus was super packed and slowwww. I needa take th earlier bus tomorrow alreadyyyy, and I'm meeting Charis t go 'school' tomorrow! wheee. Perhaps have breakfast together too! ;D

It's raining heavily outside now! Anyway, I haven't been updating my blog for th past two days, cause I've been real lazy and tireddddd.

Day Two (13th - Tuesday)

There was an ultra old and dirty icool (for hot/ice bath; recovery) from SSC. We got shocked at it's horrible state. I wouldn't want t b inside of it if I'm one of th student using it lorzxzx. Anyway, we had to scrub it clean, cause it was way too disgusting. But it was a pretty much fun experience

If you were to take a closer and proper look at it, it has like 'algaey' :/ And, there's even like that green patch of masking tape t seal a hole in it lah. wth? haha.

Compare th differences w our own icool. It's so much cleaner and newer, haha.

So, here we are scrubing clean th disgusting icool

and, TADAHHHH. It's so much cleaner already, those still somewhat dirty:/
Hmm, just in case, we sprayed antiseptic, heehee

SIAOZZX. but anyway, spontaneous as we sports science people are, we of course, still ran. -.- Cannot make it lahhh, I havent been running for so longggg. haha. My ankle was crying awayyy ):

Visited Faci Gideon at the Physiotherapy Clinic about my ankle. I needa visit him every week for physio :/ Ohwell. And he totally 'torture' my calf and ankle ): Cause he say my muscle too tensed up alr, and he helped me to loosen it by massagingggg real deep tissues - felt like he's gonna burst my vessels too, and cause blue-blacks man, haha. and he say, my ligaments are really looseee.. :/ gg. But anyway, for running, badm, blading, and etc - I will go visit th 'torture chamber' every weekkk! :/ haha.

I'm gonna gym tomorrow, despite th ache that I'm feeling. yknow, I like aching feeling actually. It's kinda an indication t me, that I havent been training hard enough for v long and that also, I've been pushing myself good enough for that training which causes th ache (Y) I havent been paddling for a soon-to-be 5 days, I needa work out! I needa not b a burden on th boat on saturday, during th pacing. I need to do my part! (: Sooooo.. I'm gonna gym hard tomorrow, wheeee. okay, I'll jog, somewhat too. heehee.

Hello, hello. I'm currently in Sports School's Sports Science Academy! It's ultra kooolll in here, not like any other schools out there. Everything seems so well planned for th student-athletes's well-being. From studying schedules, training to their meals.

We had a mini orientation around th Sports Science area. It's bigggg and pretty much well-furnised w all th equipments (: My friend, Yi Le and I prepared th Ice Immersion Bath Therapy for th Netball and Track people, who are coming later. I had lunch in their dining area (not canteen) just now, it's something different and interesting. It's like those in th american shows or army style - whereby you take a tray and on you go w th queue, with minimum freedom of choice. They even categorise th food into Protein, carbo and etc. Th food is not too bad or bland actually, it's healthy at least (: basically, planned balanced meal! Standard price of $3 and th quantity is alotttttttt, until I felt like napping after eating. hahaha. I wonder what they have for tomorrow (: - Shitzxz, Im looking forward t th food (N) :/

I'm welcomed t use their gym for training! But it's so well managed and tidy that it's rather scary t use :/ haha. I'm afraid that I might 'mess' up th place or smth. Idk if I should go train or not. It's th last day of March already, so many things happened in just three months into 2010. From th best t th worst. Whatever is it, hopefully th next few months on, good things will come my way and I'll b stronger in facing any obstacles along th way (:

Yknow what, I need t b bolder and stronger! (mentally and physically; not in th bad way, of course - I'm still a good girl kay! haha)

In just two weeks' time, attachment at Sports School awaits! I'm excited, cause Idk what I'll b facing over there and I can't wait t step foot into my passion industry that I'm focusing in t gain lots of exposure and experience(Y). However, I foresee that I'll be superrr shagged. Weekdays, Attachment plus evening back t rp for land training w my dear team! Weekends, wet training plus coaching. And once a month, races - both local and internationally. - This will go on for Three Months or so! - Whoohoo, shiok bo. I'll b crazy by th end of attachment! -.- haha.

I can't wait for my 1st attachment pay (including work + Coaching), though not alot but good enough. Then I'll kickstart on my driving from square 1. And this would add on t my already busy and hectic schedule, haha. Hopefully I do save money for th Year-end's iPhone too, and and I really really needa set aside savings. I haven't really been saving good enough :/ (N)

UT3 grades are out already! OMGGZXZXZ. :/

Okay, as you can see at th right side, there's MG (Module Grade - Final), and.. I didn't exactly did very well (Highest was just B+, and lowest B) ): I think it wasn't good enoughhhh, I had t pull up my gradessss. Sighhh. Ohwell. Anyway, they haven't published the finalised GPA!! Exciting, Excitingggg! :D

The Science behind Heartache

Heartbreak is more than just an emotional defeat; to some the pain is very real. At one point or another, everyone must experience this mind numbing feeling (unless you confine yourself to a house and never interact with even a pet) but that's not the norm and you're probably not reading this article if you've had that kind of sheltered life.

Heartbreak can be caused by many different circumstances and that's what makes this emotion easily recognized by nearly every person on the planet. It can result from the loss of a loved one, a partner, a friend and even a close pet. Or it can be caused from disappointment, betrayal or a change from known surroundings. It might not even be a loss at all but a sense of loss, or the realization that the love of the person you care most for is drifting far from where it had always been.

Love, in the same perspective as heartbreak, neither has a corrective definition nor specific amplitude implied by the physical word itself. There's a never-ending limit to the definition of love because there are so many things we love and in many different ways. There's friendship love, love for animals and possessions, love for music or hey, even food. Then there's that kind of love that is so overwhelming perfect, passionate and meaningful, a love that you have never before been able to achieve. This is the love we're going to be talking about throughout this article, but before we can continue on, we must first understand why we as humans are constantly searching to fulfill this emotion.

The Stages of Heartbreak:
Someone who is dealing with heartbreak follows patterns similar to those of the stages of death

1. Shock and Denial- you may deny the reality of the situation; this provides emotional protection from feeling overwhelmed by the situation. The shock of loss allows a state of emptiness to move in, clouding most judgment.

2. Pain and Guilt-after the shock wears off it becomes replaced with suffering and unbearable pain. Regret for things you did wrong, or things that you weren’t able to do with this person adds to further tears. Life feels chaotic during this time, and its best to openly discuss feelings and stray from bottling up your emotions

3. Anger and Bargaining- lashing out is a common form of attempting to release all unspoken emotions. This is the stage where the “why why why?!” questioning comes in. The pleas for returned love run rapid, trying to bargain with fate or with the person who was just lost.

4. Depression, Reflection, and Loneliness- like everyone else in this situation, a period of sadness clouds and
absorb your entire sense of being, leaving feelings of emptiness. This feeling occurs when you finally realize and accept the magnitude of your loss. Isolation from people is exceedingly normal, and offers a time to reflect on the past.

5. Acceptance and an Upward Turn- The feelings of depression lift slightly and life becomes possible to survive without that person so deeply intertwined with each activity. The days are a little easier to shuffle through, and you see the possibility of continuation. The reality of the situation is fully accepted and, although happiness may not return for some time, the ability to move forward has occurred.

Can Heartbreak Occur- Literally?
According to studies on heartbreak and how it affects people, most of whom women, a connection can be found between emotional pain and a literal form of heartbreak- heart attack. Depression is documented to affect its host physically and so is the case with heartbreak. The emotional stress is harmful and is said to possibly be cause for what's known as Broken Heart Syndrome, cleverly laid out in the picture below.

How to Mend A Broken Heart
The best thing for a broken heart is to be patient and allow time to settle all unresolved feelings. Talking about your feelings with friends or family help to smooth the passage of the loss, as will allowing yourself time to reflect on all feelings and answer questions you may have for yourself. Keeping busy with hobbies you're passionate about and trying new things also keeps your mind busy during hard times. Get a group of friends together and watch a movie, or if you're more to yourself, try a quiet walk through a forest or even around the neighborhood. Give yourself time, and do things that make you happy. You are your own best friend and it's important that you accept who you are and like who you are as a person before you expect anyone else to.
